  • Team internal fight for P1 in the Feature race

Team Championship lead after first Round of Long Beach

Last Wednesday, Pascal Costa and Max Kessler competed in the Apex Racing League for the first time.
Both show their skills from now on in the Porsche Cup Championship. The single driver season is already in the 2nd season. On 9 tracks 18 races will be held to find the new champion in the Pro and Am category.

The season kicked off with the exciting street circuit in Long Beach.
Walls directly adjacent to the track, a large field of over 43 riders are perfect conditions for exciting two races.

In qualifying for the sprint race, Pascal placed his Porsche Cup in 6th place. Max did not get beyond a 16th place.
As expected, there were many collisions right at the start, but both Impulse Racing drivers had no accidents.

This enabled Max to catch up quickly in the 20-minute sprint race. From 16th place, Max was able to work his way up to 11th place. Perfect starting position for the feature race, as here the result of the first 15 is reversed. Pascal ended up in 4th place in the sprint race after a great duel with Niels Langeveld from NL-Racing. It was just not enough with the first podium in the first race.

First Feature race, first Podium for Max

For the feature race, which goes over 30 minutes, the conditions are now completely different. Max had a free track in that he was allowed to open the race from the 2nd starting row. Pascal, on the other hand, had to struggle through the entire field from 11th place.
The hard work during the week paid off for Pascal! Already at the start, he could make up some places.
Due to the mistakes of the others, Max quickly took first place and Pascal was right behind him. In the last lap, Pascal was in the first place, then the irony of the race occurred. At the same spot where Casper Lund lost his lead to Max, Pascal also slid into the tire pile.

Max finished the Long Beach feature race in 2nd place, with Pascal finishing 4th.
